Who are the training sessions ideal for?
The ACSM guidelines advise that children should not have single sport specialization until about age 14-15. However, our multisport/general athletics training suits all! Children are physically and mentally ready for training like this (speed, agility, reaction time) at age 8.
How do I sign up/sign my child up?
Our intake link is located at the top of the home page as well as on our sessions page! Once that is filled out, the form will be evaluated and you will be contacted via email to find out your specific goals and a path to reach those goals.
What should I wear/bring to training?
Always wear what your are comfortable in during athletics. Cool, light, easy to move in clothing is ideal. Based on your goals different equipment, footwear, and other items may be needed, but ALWAYS bring workout sneakers and water! Sessions are planned out, but always flexible. We focus on your goals and what you want in and out of your training. Bring whatever you would like to help achieve your EXCELLENCE!
What does a typical training session look like?
Every session looks different with different goals, but there is still thought out structure to each. Usually, a session will be planned for 90 minutes. We will always begin with a 10-15 minute dynamic warm up. In this, about 5 minutes will be a general warm up, and 10-15 minutes set aside for a warmup tailored to the specific goals of the athlete and training principles that day. Then, if any testing is needed to be done, it will be conducted after the warmup and practice attempts. If no testing needs to occur, we will jump right in to working towards the goals of the athlete. About 3-4 different workouts will be utilized during the session. A 10 minute cooldown is also required for the adequate recovery of each athlete.
At what frequency should the sessions be?
It depends of many factors such as goals, sport, age, and time of the year. Complete the intake form now to get in contact and see what is best for you or your athlete!
Can parents stay and watch training sessions?
